Sound Test
Check your left and right channels are the right way round, sweep the frequency range, and see whether your microphone is actually picking anything up. No audio leaves your browser, including anything you record.
Turn your volume down before you start. Every tone here begins quiet and the level control below is the only thing that raises it, but a test tone at high volume through headphones can genuinely damage your hearing. Nothing plays until you press a button, and Stop everything is always available.

What a web page can and cannot measure
so you know what these numbers are worth- Loudness is not measurable here. The browser knows the signal it generates, not what leaves your speakers. Anything about actual volume depends on your OS mixer, amp and drivers.
- Frequency response is your hardware, not this page. If the sweep goes quiet at 15kHz, that is your speakers, your ears or your age, and this page cannot tell which.
- The microphone needs your permission and is released the moment you stop it. Recording is held in memory, never written to disk and never sent anywhere.
- Device names stay hidden until permission is granted. That is a browser privacy rule, so an unnamed device list before you allow the mic is expected.
Left and right
Press each one and say out loud which side you hear. A tone that comes from the wrong side means the channels are swapped somewhere between the app and the speaker, which is a cable or an OS setting rather than a broken speaker. Silence on one side with sound on the other is the speaker or the driver.
A 440Hz sine, which is a plain steady note rather than a beep, because a pure continuous tone makes a channel imbalance far easier to hear than a click.
